2024 Lincoln Corsair Reviews, Prices and Specs

The 2024 Lincoln Corsair epitomizes luxury in the compact SUV segment, prioritizing passenger comfort and safety. With its recent update, this best-selling model boasts elegant exterior design and a refined cabin, exuding quality and sophistication. Spacious yet luxurious, the Corsair excels in providing a comfortable and upscale driving experience for families on the road. Offering affordable luxury, it stands out as a top choice in its class for those seeking refined transportation.

Apart from renaming the entry-level Corsair as the Premiere, Lincoln hasn’t introduced any notable changes for the 2024 model year.

The 2024 Lincoln Corsair begins at $38,730 for the Premiere trim, previously known as the Corsair Standard. Front-wheel drive comes standard on the lower trims, with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive for an additional $2,300. The top-tier model is the $53,925 Grand Touring, featuring a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system and standard all-wheel drive (AWD).

The Corsair’s entry-level engine is a 250-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder, available on the Standard and Reserve trims. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive as an optional upgrade. In our tests, an all-wheel drive Corsair with this engine achieved a 0-60 mph time of 6.1 seconds. However, compared to its rivals, the Corsair falls short in terms of performance and driving satisfaction. The plug-in hybrid variant combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and all-wheel drive. During testing, the PHEV model recorded a 0-60 mph time of 7.0 seconds, but we found the powertrain to produce unrefined sounds.

With the standard turbo 4-cylinder engine, the Corsair achieves a combined mileage of 25 mpg (22 city, 30 highway). Opting for all-wheel drive reduces this slightly to 24 mpg combined (21 city, 28 highway), which is in line with segment norms.

Switching to the Grand Touring PHEV variant, the electric-only efficiency is rated at 78 MPGe. Once the battery is depleted, the combined mileage in hybrid mode reaches 33 mpg (34 city, 32 highway). The EPA estimates the annual fuel costs for the PHEV to be $1,200, based on 15,000 miles per year with an average gas cost of $3.60 per gallon. In comparison, operating the standard turbo-4 with AWD costs approximately $2,400 annually, resulting in a savings of $100 per month.

Charging the PHEV’s battery takes three to four hours with a 240-volt Level 2 charger, similar to an electric dryer. Using a standard 110-volt household outlet will require at least 10 hours for a full charge.

Even in its base Premiere trim, the Corsair offers a luxurious experience akin to a living room. Standard features include power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and proximity keyless entry with push-button start, all managed through a generous 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Despite already boasting one of the segment’s best second-row legroom measurements at 38.6 inches, the Corsair enhances versatility with sliding second-row seats that can be adjusted fore and aft. This allows for up to half a foot of additional rear legroom or increased cargo area capacity.

With 27.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, the Corsair surpasses the segment average, outdoing rivals like the Cadillac XT4 (22.5 cubic feet) but slightly falling short of the Acura RDX (29.5 cubic feet). Folding down the second-row seats expands total cargo space to 57.6 cubic feet, less than the RDX’s 58.9 cubic feet but more than competitors such as the XT4 (49.9), Genesis GV70 (56.9), and Audi Q5 (54.0).

Lincoln’s collaboration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for unique auditory alerts adds a refined touch, replacing standard electronic alerts with soothing musical tones. Overall, the Corsair stands out as a remarkably comfortable SUV in its class.

The Corsair’s exterior design is notably distinguished, offering a refreshing departure from the homogeneity often found in its SUV class. In an automotive landscape where many vehicles share similar aesthetics, setting oneself apart can be a daunting task.

However, Lincoln’s designers have risen to the challenge admirably, crafting an SUV that exudes elegance, purposefulness, and a touch of individuality. This achievement speaks volumes about their dedication to creating a vehicle that stands out in a crowded market segment.

From its sleek lines to its carefully sculpted proportions, every detail of the Corsair’s exterior reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and design excellence. It’s a testament to Lincoln’s unwavering pursuit of automotive sophistication and refinement.

The Lincoln Corsair has received top marks in safety evaluations, earning a 5-Star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Good rating in four out of five tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Lincoln equips every Corsair model with its Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety features, providing drivers with added peace of mind on the road. These features include automatic forward emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure alert, high-beam assist, and rear-park assist, demonstrating Lincoln’s commitment to prioritizing safety in its vehicles.
